Legal Litigation And Policy Advocacy
From community-level dialogues to national policy forums, we work to ensure that laws are not only enacted but implemented — empowering citizens, strengthening institutions, and holding power accountable.
From community-level dialogues to national policy forums, we work to ensure that laws are not only enacted but implemented — empowering citizens, strengthening institutions, and holding power accountable.
IDAD's Legal Litigation and Policy Advocacy program works at the intersection of law, governance, and citizen engagement to ensure Liberia's key legislative frameworks translate into real outcomes for communities. Through national and sub-national policy dialogues, IDAD has brought together government institutions, civil society organizations, and citizens to examine critical legislation — including the Local Government Act, the Revenue Sharing Act, and the National Reconciliation Plan — and to develop actionable recommendations for their implementation. The program spans multiple counties and thematic areas, from fiscal decentralization and citizens feedback mechanisms to gender policy advocacy and the prevention of sexual exploitation in schools. With support from partners including USAID and UNDP, IDAD continues to bridge the gap between policy and practice — ensuring that the voices of ordinary Liberians inform the laws and decisions that shape their lives.
